The Oregonian spotlights two projects the CCFC is involved with -- "2-1-1" and "OregonHelps!".

School Partnerships

We work to help school-aged children succeed in their education and thrive in life. To accomplish this, we support public education, local families and the children themselves. Currently we're directing our efforts towards:

  • School Age Council: Started in Spring 2004, this committee advises the CCFC Board and other stakeholders about polices and planning initiatives for school age children and youth. The committee also engages the community to strengthen support systems for school age children and youth.
  • School Age Policy Framework: We helped develop this framework which will guide the County's involvement in services for school-aged children/youth and their families. An implementation plan is currently being developed under the leadership of the Department of School and Community Partnerships (OSCP).
  • Connecting for Kids Third Grade Reading Initiative: In partnership with the Leaders Roundtable, we're recruiting volunteers and helping in other ways to increase third grade reading proficiency.
