What is Animal Magnetism: Pet TV for Humans?

Greetings! Animal Magnetism: Pet TV for Humans is our brand-new cable television show dedicated to presenting pet-related information in a fun—campy, even—manner. Our goal is to bring you up-to-date information on everything from how to find your lost pet to finding things to do with your pet in Portland to current training methods. In between, we hope to bring you glimpses of the joyful side of pet ownership.

At Multnomah County Animal Services, we are constantly striving to become better. Better in our shelter, and better at informing the community. Animal Magnetism: Pet TV for Humans is just one more step…

How can you help?

We all started out knowing NOTHING about creating a cable t.v. program, but with a determination to learn and extensive training and support from Metro East Community Media, we made it. If you’re interested in being part of this exciting new program you can help in several ways:

  • Volunteer to help specifically with the show.
  • Send us an idea for an interesting segment.
  • Send us a home-video clip showing your pet doing something interesting.
  • Tell your friends about our show and our shelter.

The “Evening Mews”

This popular segment of our show was created by a couple who had originally joined MCAS as a cat foster home. Their love of cats led to some pretty creative advertising to find their fosters new homes and that creativity led us to “tap them” for the show. If you have questions for Tom Sourpuss and Katarina Purr-ma, please contact them through the Animal Services Volunteer Coordinator. Who knows, maybe your question will end up on the show!
