YOUTH VOICE

The CCFC's youth voice policy area is led by the Multnomah Youth Commission which is part of the larger City/County Youth Engagement Program.  Close to 25% of Multnomah County residents are under the age of 18.  The City/County Youth Engagement Program's mission is to provide opportunities for youth to be fully engaged and involved in local government as valued, contributing members of our diverse community.

The City/County Youth Engagement Program is made up of the joint City/County policy advisory body the Multnomah Youth Commission, the Youth Planner Program in the City of Portland's Bureau of Planning, and Multnomah County Libraries Teen Programs.  Our work is guided by "Our Bill of Rights: Children + Youth," the nation's first Bill of Rights written by and for young people and adopted by a local government.
